1. What is The Next Genius Scholarship Program?

The Next Genius Scholarship Program offers full and partial tuition scholarships to Indian high school students who wish to pursue their undergraduate education in the United States of America and Europe.

2. How does the program select students?

To win a Next Genius Scholarship, you must clear the following two levels:

Level 1 - Online Test
November 12, 2017
Conducted Online
Apply Online before November 10, 2017.
• Scholarship application is free of charge
• Complete a basic profile
• Take an online critical thinking assessment on November 12 (Sunday). The assessment will measure your ability to read effectively, reason, analyze data and solve puzzles. For more information, click here.

Level 2 – Personal Interviews
January 13, 2018
Conducted in Mumbai
• Shortlisted students from Level 1 will be interviewed by the Next Genius team and the Admission Officer(s) from the respective colleges in a group setting in Mumbai.
• Prior to the interviews, the students will be asked to submit their full college application online, supporting financial aid documentation and a ZeeMee profile before January 1, 2018.

3. What is the syllabus for the Level 1 - Online critical thinking assessment? How can I prepare better for this?

The assessment will measure your ability to solve complex problems in limited time. We are not assessing your ability to memorize content or solve problems from your school curriculum. Our questions are designed in-house and we do not have a set curriculum. Thus, prior knowledge of any kind is not required in solving this assessment (except knowledge of basic Math and basic secondary school level English).

Thus, it is difficult to prep for this assessment. Registered students can purchase a practice booklet from us to see sample problems from past assessments. Students can follow the question of the day that we post on our Facebook page.

4. Who is eligible for these scholarships?

Only high school students who are in Grade 12 (or gap year) as on November 12, 2017 are eligible for these scholarships. You must be an Indian citizen, a PIO card holder, or studying at a high school located in India to qualify.

The foundation welcomes applications from students with any learning or medical disability. Equal opportunities are provided to everyone, irrespective of gender, caste, geography, or economic background. Awarding the final scholarship is solely at the discretion of the Next Genius partner colleges, in consultation with The Next Genius Foundation. All awards are given, subject to the eligibility criterion and availability of funding. In case of any foul play (as determined by the foundation), we reserve the right to withhold awarding the scholarship.

5. What is the application deadline?

November 10, 2017

6. What is the application fees?

No application fees is charged. It is completely free of cost.

7. Where is the test centre for the Level 1 assessment?

The Level 1 Critical Thinking Assessment is to be completed online. You can take it from the convenience of your home, your school, or even in a cyber café. All you need is a computer with a webcam and a strong internet connection.

8. Can I participate using mobile or tablet for the Level 1 assessment?

No, the online assessment is available only on a system (desktop / laptop).

9. What are the minimum technical requirements?

You must have a strong internet connection and a functional webcam to take the online assessment. You must use the latest version of Google Chrome Browser. Laptop and desktop both are OK, Mobile phone and tablets are not.

10. How will I know the results of Level 1 assessment?

We will email the shortlisted students within four working days of the Level 1 assessment (by November 16, 2017). Please check your registered email ID regularly as all important communications pertaining to Next Genius Scholarship Program are sent via email.

11. Will the Level 2 personal interview be conducted in my city?

The interview for Level 2 will only be conducted in Mumbai on January 13, 2018. You must arrange to travel to Mumbai for this period. Please note, that this expense is your personal liability. The foundation will not pay for the travel, accommodation or any other expense incurred by you towards the interview.

12. What does this scholarship cover?

Full Tuition Scholarship
The Next Genius Scholarship only covers the actual tuition (fees) component of the undergraduate education. A 100% tuition fees scholarship winner will be provided a full-tuition fee waiver for only four years of their undergraduate education. The scholarship does not offer money for actual expenses such as accommodation, food, stationery, insurance & travel. Parents should be aware that living cost in the US vary according to the location and can range anywhere between USD 10,000 - 20,000 per year. Any non-tuition expenses are the liability of the parents and the student.

Partial Tuition Scholarship
A partial scholarship winner would be provided a partial-tuition fee waiver for only four years of their undergraduate education. The scholarship does not offer money for actual expenses such as accommodation, food, stationery, insurance & travel. Parents should be aware that living cost in the US vary according to the location and can range anywhere between USD 10,000 - 20,000 per year. Any non-tuition expenses are the liability of the parents and the student.

The BL Mandhana Scholarship
The winners of this highly coveted scholarship are awarded with a USD 10,000 award towards their tuition fees at any college of their choice in North America or Europe.

13. What about the visa?

Winners of the scholarship will receive official letter of acceptance from the college. Along with this, they will also get the I-20 form. The Next Genius Foundation will also issue a letter of support from our side to them. Applying and obtaining the F1 student visa is the sole responsibility of the student. They must arrange all their documents and take an appointment with the US Consulate for their student visa themselves.

14. Next Genius Scholarships are available for which colleges?

The Next Genius Foundation offers full and half tuition scholarships in association with our partner colleges, to highly promising Indian students. Winners are guaranteed college admission and provided scholarship for four year of study in a subject of their choice at one of the following colleges:

15. Can I use the The BL Mandhana Scholarships at any college of my choice?

Yes. The winners of this highly coveted scholarship are awarded with USD 10,000 award towards their tuition fees at any college of their choice in North America or Europe.

16. My child is in 11th grade, will he be able to apply?

No. Only 12th grade students (or drop year) students will be considered for the Next Genius Scholarships this year.
